Timothy J. Franke was appointed to the Springfield Airport Authority Board in August of 2019.
He is a 4th generation Springfield resident and is currently a Senior Public Service Administrator with the State of Illinois and previously retired from the Springfield Airport Authority as the Director of Operations and Public Safety with 35 years of service. He is a veteran and served with the 183d Fighter Wing (ILANG) located at Abraham Lincoln Capital Airport. He served on the Federal Bureau of Investigation Joint Terrorism Task Force and was a 25 year participant with the American Association of Airport Executives and participated with the Illinois Public Airports Association. He participated as a delegation member to Ashikaga, Japan with the City of Springfield Sister Cities Association 25th Year Anniversary and also served as a delegation member to the USS Abraham Lincoln CVN 72 Aircraft Carrier at the Norfolk Naval Station.
Mr. Franke serves as the Chair of the Economic Development and Community Affairs Committee for the Springfield Airport Authority which includes Airport Economic Development, Legislative Affairs, Special Events, Commercial Development, and Liaison with local Economic Development Organizations.
