3 Reasons to Choose Abraham Lincoln Capital Airport

May 17, 2019

While there’s a general perception that larger airports offer more in the way of amenities, regional and smaller airports can offer a level of service that sometimes can’t be provided by the larger, crowded airports. While Abraham Lincoln Capital Airport may not employ the services of a trick-performing, flight-anxiety “therapy pig” (as they do at San Francisco International Airport), there are many services available to customers.

FlySPI Skyclub

The FlySPI Skyclub affords passengers first-class service by providing parking that’s close to the main terminal doors, and access to the Sky Club Lounge whenever you fly. In the lounge, you’ll enjoy complimentary beverages, as well as free Internet access, and you’ll also have help making arrangements in the event that your flight is delayed or canceled.

The FlySPI Club costs $150 per person, per year and corporate rates are available.

Passenger Services

The travel consultants at the Passenger Services Center can help you with reservations, flight information, maps of Springfield and local tourism info, business services, and information about joining the FlySPI SkyClub.

Also located in the main terminal is the Abraham Lincoln Capital Airport Gift Shop. A useful feature of the gift shop (apart from an assortment of alcoholic beverages, books, and other gifts) is assistance in helping you keep your valuables that might not have made it through the screening process (e.g. expensive perfume over 3 ounces).

Other Services and Amenities

You can find information about your flight from American Airlines, Allegiant, United Airlines and Riverside Resort using the Flight Tracker on the airport’s website. Additionally, the airport has car rental services, which are located at the east end of the terminal.

There is also an airport restaurant, courtesy phones, WiFi, television and more provided to all travelers, as well as a smoking area, vending machines and an ATM.

Located in central Illinois, SPI (the three-letter airport code) aims to provide its passengers with all of the comforts and amenities of a larger airport to make the travel experience as pleasant as possible. The airport’s website also offers a “true” travel cost calculator, to help passengers make more informed decisions on a trip (versus relying on airfare alone).
