North:
Take I-55 south to the Sherman Exit (exit #105). Turn right onto Business 55, which turns into Veteran's Parkway. Go approximately 6-6 1/2 miles and turn right at the intersection at J. David Jones Parkway. Go approximately 1/2 mile and the main entrance to the airport will be on your left.
If Route 29, continue southbound into Springfield limits, Capital Airport is immediately on your right. The first right after Hackmore Drive (A&W-Gas Station) is the main entrance to Capital Airport.
South:
If on I-55, take I-55 North to the Sangamon Avenue exit. Follow Sangamon Avenue through town to 5th street. Turn Right. Drive to stop light, which will be Browning Road. Turn left. Drive to second stop light, which will be J. David Jones Parkway, turn right. The second entrance on your left will be the main entrance to Capital Airport.
If traveling Route 4, continue northbound on Route 4/Veterans Parkway to J. David Jones Parkway. Turn left . Continue through the stop light and the second entrance on your left will be the main entrance to Capital Airport.
East:
If I-72 or Route 29, exit on to I-55 northbound just outside of town to the Sangamon Avenue Exit. Follow Sangamon Avenue through town to 5th street. Turn Right. Drive to stop light, which will be Browning Road. Turn left. Drive to second stop light, which will be J. David Jones Parkway, turn right. The second entrance on your left will be the main entrance to Capital Airport.
If Route 54, continue on into town. You will already be on Sangamon Avenue. Follow directions above.
West:
For all roads west of Springfield, drive eastbound to Route4/Veterans. Turn left (northbound). Continue northbound to J. David Jones Parkway/Route 29. Turn left. Continue through the stop light and the second entrance on the left will be the main entrance to Capital airport.
