Abraham Lincoln Capital Airport to Improve Runway Safety

SPRINGFIELD, ILLINOIS…… Abraham Lincoln Capital Airport, through a Federal DOTgrant, will be upgrading ground safety by installing Runway Guard Lights (RGLs) at the intersections of its two main runways and taxiways. On July 8, 2010 the airport was awarded a $328,466 U.S. Department of Transportation grant to install runway incursion devices on the airfield. The FAA Runway Safety Action team recommended the addition of RGLs during their April 2009 evaluation of Abraham Lincoln Capital Airport.
